gaskets

Are the differential gaskets from Ford any better than the ones from say Advance or Autozone? I need to pick up new ones and am not sure which path to take.

Update- I called the local dealership and they told me they never use gaskets...they only use silicon. He said they come from the factory that way. Is that true? Jegs has gaskets...we have a 9.75 right?

Thumbs up

I know for sure you can buy a gasket for the 8.8.The part number is;
Fel Pro RDS-55341
I'm not sure about the 9.75 but if you say Jegs has them I would buy one! Using a gasket in conjuction with a very thin layer of RTV is the way to go! I use them on 8.8s and never have a leak!

My local guy was able to track down something. He said it wasn't called a 9.75, but had the same shape and is a 12 bolt. Jegs was like 15 days to ship and I'm doing the lift next Saturday. Got that, a new 8.8, gear lube, and my chassis grease. I'm now one step closer. Thanks-
