Just bought a 2005 F-150 XLT. It has 50,000 miles. The odometer is blinking every so often. Any ideas what I can do? Also on a side note, what types of gears are in this truck?

 

I have a 2000 F150 and my odometer goes out every now and then as well. Sometimes it will not come at initial start. If you look in the driver door jamb there is the Ford build tag. It has axle then a letter. The letter/number corresponds to gears:
19 – 3.55 Non-LS
18 – 3.08 Non-LS
H9 – 3.55 LS
B6 – 3.73 LS

 

My 2000 f150 does that as well. I heard there is some bad solder connections on the display board
