it already has the slip modifier in them, but you are not running the correct oil. You should be running 75w140. It is a sythetic that ford switched to a few years back and every thing has been using that. Before that they were using 75w90. You may want to check but I think you should switch out to the correct fluid.

It is 75W140 for the rear and 75W90 for the front. Only the rear spec was changed to 75W140.

Opps I guess I should have been a little more specific. Thanks for clearing that up!

Just wondering but how did ya get water inside? I have gone through about 30" and havent had any water in the diffs. You might want to check your breathers

Exclamation

Even tho it states it has the friction modifier in it you should still add a 4 oz. bottle of the Ford friction modifier!

yeah we went mud offroading with some friends and 2 more jeeps and in some time we have to cross a river wich we think it wasnt too deep, even with the lvl kit it was really deep , the water reach in some time the hole front beam cause the light faded on the water, in some point in the middle of the river i hit something maybe a rock i dont know but the impact made my friend and i jump to the top and the truck stopped i had to back up really fast and return to the shore... it was really deep. i know but it was a beer night

damage list
2 fog beam flooded
2 original stirrup torn apart
skid plate damage
cardan joint damage
and lots of marks on the paint

but the good news is that the beer never ended and we continued the hole night ...

thats the only oil they had should i replace it inmediatly or can i use it at least 5k aprox ?

Check all your fluids since the water was so deep. Check the trans and the motor oil. The motor oil starts to look like chocolate milk if it has water in it.

I had a hard time understanding how deep the water was, I have had my truck about 6" up the doors. Sounds like yours might have been a little higher. Sounds like an adventure, got any pics?

hogy that weight oil you put in will be fine.

Trust me, it really doesn't matter.

I'd still add some ford friction modifier to the rear end if you got a Limited slip. Royal purple claims their oil doesn't need it, but it won't hurt adding some friction modifier.
