Post Drop in locker for 2wd?

I have a 97 2wd with a 6in. lift with 33's but soon to have 35's. I am about to get some gears and am thinking it will worth it to me to spend a little extra to get some sort of locking differential. I go in the dirt alot especially the desert. I am part of an offroad race team and chase out in the dirt alot. I have heard of a drop in type locker? but not sure what it is? I have also heard of an air locker that works with a compressor but I think that is pretty spendy. What the best traction for my buck so I don't get stuck rolling diagonally over a 3 foot whoopteedoo ?

I posted a link to instructions/illustrations for installing a locker within the last week somewhere on this board.

There is a Search function located on the upper right of the screen that I see here.

You might search for keywords like axle or differential or locker and with posts by my username -- and may find it helpful.
