I have a bad squeak when i reverse. Only when i reverse! I think its the u-joints. I can get them replaced real cheap BUT!, i was told that on an '04 u cannot just replace the u-joints but have to replace the whole drive shaft. Anyone have any input?

 

I can't imagine having to replace the whole shaft but then anything is possible with new trucks! I just got my 04 a few weeks ago but now I'm curious...I'm going to have a look under there tomorrow and see what I can see...

 

Check your parking brake linkage. My truck was doing the same and the linkage that passes through the rubber boot was seized up with rust. A wire wheel and some anti-seize took care of the problem.
