3 wheel drive?

Got a problem with my 4 wheel drive. The 4 wheel drive wasn’t working for a while until I discovered the wire from the PDB to the shift relays corroded and broke away from the PDB. I fixed the wire and replaced the transfer case shift motor in the process. When I put the truck in 4X4 mode things didn’t sound right so I put the truck on jack stands to check things out. In 4X4 mode, I found drivers side front wheel is just barely turning and it appears the other 3 wheels are turning as they should. The truck is a 1997 F-150Anybody have any thoughts?

lol uh that sounds odd. but in all reality if your front diff is in good shape you should be able to put the truck in park in 4wd (this is to lock the front driveshaft), then spin a tire forward. opposite tire should spin the opposite way. its how your open differential should work.

Sorry, forgot to mention that while on the jack stands, the engine is running and trans in "D". After reading another thread though it sounds like with the front axle only one wheel pulls so I may not have a problem.

That is normal when you have an open differential. If you block either front wheel, the other should turn.

well in the snow all 4 of mine will burn out at what appears to be the same speed... so either something is wrong with my pickup... or something is wrong with yours.
