Gear install

Well my gears are going to show up today and I currently have the front of truck apart to the point of being ready to install the lift. Is it easy to install the gears after completing the lift or should i do it now. I don't really have a garage to work in as it's to tall now.

Well, doing front gears will add a day to your install. Do you have the time?

Either way the front axle has to come out of the truck to complete the install.

Let me know how it works out for you. I am deciding which way to go with my traction aid and I will be making my purchase. I'll be doing my install.

Guess I should get the book out about taking it apart. If it has to come completely out I would think it would be simpler to do it now. An extra day of being apart won't hurt anything and it looks like I would have to take part of the lift back off to take it all the way out anyhow.

Down to sport the bill for me ?

I think your right. It may be nice to have the selectable out back. Or leave the LS out back, selectable up front.... aw choices...

at least i know I am going 4.88's

Lol, im still sporting my own bill!!
If you have the 8.8 get an ected in the rear LS/Spool setup if you want selectable. I'm just saying.... The selling point for me was to do it now rather than have to take that darn thing apart again and kick myself in the butt for not doing the first time. I still am beating myself for not upgrading the rear when i had the gears done, but the LS is doing fine for now.

Everything just gets more fun. Which manual is the best one for doing the gears. My Haynes junk manual has nothing in it.

Well i read all about gear installs and it looks easy enough but time is a problem. Does anyone know someone in the Raleigh NC area that does gears. I don't have 5 or 6 hrs if i'm lucky to do it. So anyone that knows someone here that is reasonable priced Let me know.
