Not sure if this question is in the right forum but here goes. I have a whining or more like a hissing noise that comes from the dash area when I am accelerating. It's faint but sounds like either the speedometer or maybe the AC hissing down in the dash. My ole' man had an 86' F150 that needed the speedometer cable greased years ago to stop a similar sound. I know that's a vague description, but I took it to the dealership and they, as usual, could find nothing wrong.

I have an 06 Screw with the 4.6. Only 10,000 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated.

 

any mods? After market air instake ?

Kinda hard to tell with out hearing the noise. Does it get louder while your accelerating ? Does it stay the same "loudness" while cruising at that speed, or is it louder under acceleration, then gets faint when up to speed ?

 

I have an air raid CAI and mangaflow duals, but this sound has been there since I bought the truck before I added the mods. I have no idea where it's coming from, but it's just enough to be annoying.

also, it's the same "loudness" all the time....which is very faint.
