Steering Box (Sector)
Well, I'm back for my once every 6 month post again. A few weeks ago I developed a cracking noise in the front end of my truck. I'm thinking it's tie rods or ball joints, or something with the suspension. Turns out the steering box (sector) needs replaced. The guys working on it told me they checked everything up front and found the noise was coming from the box. The service manager (a good friend and trustworthy one at that) said he's never seen anything like it before and he couldn't find anything on Ford's tech site about it. Has anybody had this problem other than me? It's most noticable (especially with the 5-speed) starting out, stopping, and in low-speed, tight turns. Let me know. BTW: how about these gas prices? In Columbus, OH we're a little over $2.00. 13 miles to the gallon isn't getting me very far anymore....
