Pinion seal longenvity

The rear pinion seal should technically last well over 100,000 miles. Driving conditions and general maintenance could affect performance. Is you axle vent tube clogged? To check, take the tube off the axle and run some air through it, also clean the port on the axle with a flexible pipe cleaner. If all clear then the issue could be dirt or other debris on the pinion shaft itself.

One thing to be sure of. When you had the pinion seal changed, make sure they replaced the crush collar and used a new pinion nut with the correct torque. If this is not done correctly, you are bound to have problems like pinion bearing damage etc...

Good luck!
