Clicking noise in front end

I've been fighting this clicking for a couple weeks now. It happens when i'm accelerating from a stop and it can also be hard at low speeds. I'm sure the noise is there at high speeds but road noise drones it out. Seems to happen more when turning. I replaced the CV shafts recently and the noise didn't stop but quited down a bit. Ball joints are good and the wheel bearings are tight and don't make any noise.

The noise is a clicking noise like something is binding up in the front end. It can also be felt in the steering wheel.

I jacked up the truck today and had all four tires off the ground in nutral. When I grabbed the CV shaft, I got quite a bit of play where the CV flange meets the axle tube flange on both sides. I'm starting to think this is a front axle problem rather than a wheel bearing problem.
