does anybody know of a dana 44 that would have the same or close enough bolt pattern as the 9.75 so i could run the same wheels? i'm thinkin of swappin in a straight axle if i can't find an 8.8 housing tomorrow i just made a completely stupid mistake and broke mine in half. i dropped the oil pan and cleaned off the oil pump screen then forgot to put the crossmember for the axle back in and after it sat for a day i said to hell with tryin anything else to make it stop tickin. we took it out in the field and when i tried to lock it in the axle broke in half after it dropped down in the rear. i can't believe how stupid that was i was gettin her ready to go ride tomorrow and just blew it if i can't get a housing in the morning. i don't think it would be too hard to swap in a 44 i just don't know how the steering is goona work and i'll have to modify or make a new crossmember for the tranny

 

Try contacting ORU Off Road Unlimited. They do solid axle swaps all the time. Very easy to mod the wheels to fit. Just drillout your lug holes to 11/16.

 

all they got on their web site is chevy crap. and i don't need a kit anyway that'll be too expensive i'm gonna have to buy a new motor soon too so a kit is out since the only one i've seen for an f150 is about 3,000 without the axle
