2004 4x4 not engaging
I have been reading several of the previous posts and they all describe problems with 1997-2003 series 4x4 not engaging. I have an 04 STX that is doing the same thing. Lights on the dash come on, but no power to the front wheels. I do not have the dash switch - my shifter is on the floor. Any help?

2004 is totally different than 97-03.
If you are not getting power to the front driveshaft, I suspect you may have a TC problem or a linkage to the TC from your shifter problem. Other possibility is that a switch does not sense that you are in 4wd and doesn't tell the vacuum solenoid for the front IWE's to stop sending vacuum (default position for the IWE's is locked).
Best way to tell is jack it up with all 4 wheels on the ground and see if when you put it in 4wd, the front driveshaft turns. If it does, it is an IWE problem.
