gear HELP
gear HELP
Well i went to sts today the place were i go my lift installed. i talked to the about gears they said around 1200 for the front and back, well they called me up a few hours later saying it was going to be around 1150 just for the back for yukon gears, i said why is it so much more and they said the rebuild kit and ball bearings are as much as the gears.. Is this a load of bull or what.
ive been researching precisions, yukons, motives, all of em.
I have yet to find a ring and pinion set that legitimately costs 500 bucks and an install kit that costs 500 bucks.
1250 front and back is pretty good though. That included installation right?

It should have included the install. If it didn't just find another shop. Most people have theirs done for between $1100 and $1600 total, parts and labor. I had mine done for just over a grand.
ya i called 2 other shops and one said they do Yukons front and rear for 1300, the other shop said 1295 for genuin gears.. but i wanted to give the business to the ppl that did my lift but the said 1300 just for the rear with yukons.. i though they were crazy

It'll definitely be nice. Just don't get too exctied, because your truck will pretty much just be like it was stock. I couldn't wait to have my gears installed, but was actually a little disappointed when I got the truck back. It certainly helps a lot, but it's not incredibly drastic.
ok now my question i have a 02 4.6l with 35's. I blew my engine am gettin a new jasper stage one performance put in, i have cold air intake, true duals, puttin on the edge evo, and gettin sum 4.56's installed i should notice a dramatic change right like away better then stock change.

So i picked up the truck saterday, wasnt quit what i was thinking....
it gets up and gose more then what it did but it threw my spedometer off really bad,
it used to be when i was going 60 it would say 55, now it says 60 when im going 45.
its also counting mile like nothing.. the odometer is messed up.
Mile age went from 10.6 to 14.
how do i fix these things

with the yukon gears tomson center or master install and diff cover was 1350 for front and rear, it was the best price i could find.

I myself prefer custom tunes after having the edge prior to my troyer tunes.
Ya you have a new truck and you don't want to void the warranty.
There was a thread about using tuners and voiding warranty....i'll see if i can find it.
Here it is.... https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=305713
Also i would say if you don't get the tuner your dealer should be able to fix the problem for you.
