Bypass transfer case/remove driveshaft

Please excuse the stupid question as I am a car guy and use my '97 F150 4x4 as a work truck around the house. Is there someway to bypass the transfer case by taking off the short driveshaft? Thanks.

No, you can't "bypass" the t-case. You can shift it to 2WD, or you can remove it & rebuild (or swap) the trans to a 2WD version. But there's no "bypassing".
