I too have a 2001 f150 "7700" series. very strong truck for a 150.

first off the truck sits high as if it is lifted.I see That other one in this post sits just like it.
do they come from the factory jacked up already? and would buying a 2-3" lift be stupid be caused it may lower the truck instead?
I want to lift it 2-3" but really need to know if a 2-3" would do it or do i need to get a 5-6" to do any good:help:?

I added a 4inch lift and it acts more like a 6 inch. The 7700 is taller from factory due to extra leaf in rear and the bigger torsion bars. If order lift kit the only variation in my kit was I needed to have larger U bolts made for the rear as the 10.25 rear axle housing is larger around than the standard F150. Everything else hooked up perfect,as designed.

I have 01 7700 series and was wondering if anyone had any advice on changing the plugs on a triton 5.4 of that year, i had heard the plugs break off in the heads, but i have also heard that problem did not start till 03,,anyone know anything about this? wheather it is true or false?

Russ, there are tons of threads on spark plug issues in the V-8 Engines forum. In a nutshell, you won't have any issues getting them out, but you will have problems keeping them in.

Hint: www.blownoutsparkplug.com - FAQ's #51 and #52.

Ok all you 7700 guys. Are any of you running a tranny temp gauge? I installed one couple months ago and am averaging 180-200 on normal daily driving. This seems a little warm to me. I pick up my new camper (25ft hardside) next weekend and was wondering if I need to change the fluids or what. Truck has 102 on the odometer and I know it was changed once by previous owner. Also if I change it what is the best way to rotate TQ to get the drain plug facing down? What's the proper way to refill the tranny\TQ and how much fluid? And finally, are any of you running the oversized cooling pans?

As I remember, I turned the TC by using a screwdriver for a lever in the teeth of the flex plate with the trans in park.
When I took the pan off my 2000 4R70W and drained the TC, I think it took about 11 1/2 qts to refill. Put in 5 or6 qts, run the engine a few seconds, put in a few more, run some more, and keep repeating until it checks ok. You may not have the same trans though if you have a 7700. Mine was a F150. You probably have the 4R100? The owners manual should tell you how many qts it holds.

Thanks for the info. Just found out tonight my 7700 does have the 4R70W.

Mine are made by Fortress. The similar style i have seen on Ebay. Mine work great and are a direct fit.

gears?

Wait.. you pulled the stock but perfect 3;73 gears out of yours?

Why?

and what did you do with them?

Anyways im selling a nice fiberglass hood with functional scoop and 3" Cowl.

Would take a steel working God to top this fine hood I had made to order.

I need to sell it so $350 takes it.($600.00 comparable easy)

send me an email IF SERIOUS ..no tire kickers or dreamers pls.And ill send the picks. This isnt the single ply hood some cheapo companies make I made it with a main and inner panels for a lot of strength since hoods are opend/slammed alot etc. and its Ready to be prepped for paint for any f150 99-03. I Recommend the painter do the prep work or a good bodyman to make this right and all lines match up. All holes and latches are cut out. see my pics later.
