Blown Diff

Well driving down a hill at 70 and pulling a 25 ft trailer must not set in right with a 01 F150 5.4 Lariat 4X4. My truck locked up and I came to a skidding halt in the middle of the highway. I get out and I look at a puddle of oil under my truck. A gear shot right through my casing. Odd huh?

wow that sucks man. Maybe a good time to regear for some more power since your going to be replacing things back there anyway.

Wow... I blew my rearend once but it was nothing like that. You're lucky it didn't get you into an accident. I take that back: somebody else is lucky it didn't get you into an accident. I have a feeling a truck and trailer would win against just about any car on the road.

Wow!! That really came apart in a hurry......glad to hear no more damage done in the sudden stop on the highway. Though you may have flat spotted the rear tires.

Flat spot. As soon as I get my truck back Ill burn those tires down to a crisp. I would get bigger gears but my truck is still under warranty...Unless I could convince them to up the gearing ... They are having an Inspector come out to look at my truck tomorrow to estimate damages for sucking apple ford.

Looks like something missed snack time...

I betcha it was just from the heat... it happens, and you won the lucky lottery for blowing rear ends that day.
