Transfer case

i have a 1992 f-150 and this is a dumb question but what fluid goes in my transfer case i thought trani fluid but i was also told that it was gear oil?? kinda confused

If you don't have an owner's manual, download the closest year you can get from Ford. Then get a Haynes manual &/or a Ford service disk.
