Question rear diff cover

i've got a 2001 Supercrew. I'm replacing the rear diff cover as mine is starting to rust. I'm going to replace with an after market diff cover. Here's my question...what's the difference between the 9.75 diff cover and the ford 12-bolt cover? Jegs.com offers both, and they both look pretty darn similiar. I just want to make sure I don't order the wrong one. Any help?

From: Georgia on my mind...
Ford 12 bolt? GM usually refers to their axles by the number of carrier bolts, not Ford. I guess you could call a 9.75 a "12 bolt" since it does have 12 bolts holding the ring gear to the carrier. I'd get the 9.75 cover just in case this is a screw up/typo on Jeg's part.

I think it's the same...here is the cover I just put on:

http://mag-hytec.com/store/index.php...31efbaf03241bd

As you can see the part number is Ford12-9.75.

Here is the thread w/pics of it installed:

Edit: I'd go w/Quintins advice...he's all knowing IRT Ford parts..
