It should be listed in the owners manual or the maintenance schedule.

Ford claims its a lifetime fluid (100k miles).Or,if you submerge your axle in water you "must" replace the fluid!

yeah I phoned Ford 250,000 kms ... damn I hate it when being try ripping me off I wonder how many old ladies they've ripped off. They said they are the waurentee place for suzuki in town and suzuki changes at the first 5,000kms and then every 15000 after that seem like a big waste of oil

I remember reading a artical that mentioned a study awhile that mentioned that most wear in a Diff happens in the first 500 miles.

So the recommendation was to change the Diff fluid after that first 500 miles to clean out all the suspended stuff and after that with a good synth you could go 50 to 100,000 miles.

I don't know how true it is and don't think I'd ever let my Diff go 100,000 miles between fluid changes. But changing my Diff fluid at 500 mile is a small price to pay for some peace of mind.

ya, you should replace the fluid within the first 500 miles. Its just like as if you put new gears in your truck, they instruct you to change the fluid after 500 miles because thats the period of the gear break in and metal particles float around.

Why not change the fluid?...its only like $10 a pint...cheap insurance if you ask me.
