Question Steering

My '97 F150 sometimes squeels when I turn the wheel. I can't seem to correlate when it does with anything else - it seems to be random. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Ryno

Cool

its most likely you're pitman arm. sometimes using a grease gun with a needle stops the noise, otherwise you need a new one.

I had this same problem on my 97 F-150. Especially when turning left. Took it to my local dealer (squeaked in right before my warranty expired) and they replaced the pitman arm. Hasn't made any more noise.

Thanks for the info guys. Turns out there is a grease fitting on the pitman arm (one of very few I have found on my truck). Greased it a week ago and it has been fine since. Again, thanks.
