Post Hubs or transfer case, that is the question

It's happened again, shifted into low range and hubs wouldn't lock. This makes the second time this has happened and when I finally get it in "four wheel drive", it's hard to get it out. The truck is a '95 F-150 with the 5.0, autohubs , and auto tranny. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance

Sounds like an autohub almost blown out. Had that problem in my '95. There's a lot of plactic in there. If I had kept the truck, I would have tried anouther hub or manuel.

I think you will have to find out if the front drive shaft is turning or not when you have this problem. Could mark shaft, pull up a few inches, and see if the mark moves. Does this happen in 4High also?
