Hey all
I had an 03 FX4 and traded it for an 06 Lariat. I would like to get rid of the "one legger" action on my new truck and put in an LSD. Does anyone know a good aftermarket provider of LSD for my truck. Is this something I could do myself?
I'm mechanical, but have never done anything like this.
Also, do i have to change the gears or can i leave the factory gears

Truck is an 06 with 5.4l auto screw

 

Call Randy's Ring and Pinion 1800-347-1188. They are extremely knowledgable and will do everything they can to help you. You probably shouldn't try it on your own, as you are working with very tight tolerances (thousandths of an inch) and if you are even a tiny bit off you will end up with lots of noise and possibly failure of the entire rearend. As far as gears, you can swap the stock gears onto the new carrier. If you plan on putting bigger tires on your truck, you may think about having it regeared at the same time so you don't end up paying for the labor twice.
