shimmy in the front end

The front end shimmys and shakes at 45-50 mph. if i acclearate through that speed it doesn't do it. i just put a steering damper on and some of it went away but not all of it. Just wondering what it could be. thanks apreciate it.

Shimmy

Shimmy could be cause by wheel inbalance, also road force; needless to say, if you balance your wheels they could already be cupped, and cupping will cause harsh ride and shaking of steering wheel.

Had the same problem on a '97 and on a 2000. Was the right front hub/bearing assembly, both times. Still don't know why it didn't shake all the time.
