I have a 2004 4.6L STX with the floor shift 4x4 and it sounds like the shift lever is vibrating against the floor when the truck is is 4x4. The truck is under warranty, so I took it to the dealer and the service manager said that they all do that, and that there was nothing wrong with it. I have driven many 4x4 vehicles in my day and have never heard such a noise.

I am just wondering if he was feeding me full of sh%& or they all make that noise.

 

Hey there! Just wanted to tell ya that I also have a 2004 F150. I've had it since Nov and there was no vibration in the area that you've described. I'd definitely get another opinion. I've personally found that dealerships are often very busy and they miss alot, either because they don't have time, or because they want to.
