4x4 hubs stuck locked

4x4 hubs stuck locked

alright i finished installing my lift kit and my hubs are stuck in the locked position but the transfer case is not in 4x4 and i can not figure out wether vacum is used to lock the hubs or vacum is used to keep the axels unlocked some one help please or if any oine has had this problem what was your fix i have a 2005 fx4

On the 04 up the vacuum is used to unlock the IWE's. Default is locked. If you don't have the vacuum lines hooked up, the IWE's will remain locked.

Probably or if someone else did the lift, they did not hook the vacuum lines back up. If you have a vacuum pump, you might try to make sure nothing is screwed up in the IWE's.

i did the lift myself so i know all the lines are hooked up what in the iwe,s would make them stayed locked

No vacuum. They run off vacuum from the solenoid on the firewall. See this thread.
Other possibility is the solenoid is not getting the signal to unlock, but would really expect the vacuum to be the problem.
