!!!need help on ordering ring and pinion!!!
i have a 03 f150 fx4 with the rear end whine
im tryin go to get a ring and pinion for it and im not sure what im looking for.
my tag reads : V 919B
L55 975 3A07
i figure its limited slip 3.55 ratio with 9.75" rear end, correct?
i was also told that they have the 8.8 ring gear like the mustang and rangers...
so would any 8.8 3.55 ring and pinion work for my truck??
just confused on what i need to order...

Call Randy's Ring and Pinion. 1800-347-1188. Give them the tag number off your diff and they'll hook you up with whatever you need. Very good company. Good Luck.
this problem was diagnosed at the dealship with a quote of 1300 to replace the ring and pinion.....
it has a whine noise from about 40mph to 50-55 mph then goes away....
if i give it a slight touch on the throttle if whines like crazy, but if i let off it goes away...

I still don't think That necessarily means that you need a new ring and pinion. All it REALLY means is that that something isn't set up correctly. My truck does the same thing and it's because when I set up the rearend I didn't put enough preload on the carrier bearings. Buying a minor install kit and having somebody shim out the carrier again may fix the problem.
If you do decide to order parts, I seriously recommend calling Randy's Ring and Pinion. Even if you don't plan on ordering anything from them, they'll still give you excellent advice. They'll even talk you trhough setting up a rearend that you didn't buy from them. Whatever you decide on, I hope it turns out good.
