steering gear box leak

Anyone rebuild one before?

My 97 is leaking around the pitman arm. Is the procedure the same for the 97 and newers? Pull the arm, remove the snap ring, start the engine, blow the seal off, press new one in, and reinstall pitman arm??

Thanks

Exclamation Caution

If you decide to do the pitman arm removal (blow seal out) method; do not nick or scratch the seal surface when reinstalling the new pitman arm seals. If you do, you will have a leaker untill the sector (output) shaft is replaced.

Thanks for the tip.

Do the new seals just get pressed in by hand?

Did you fix it?

Dude did you get your 97 F150 fixed? I have the same truck and it is leaking in the same spot. I am wondering if you were sucessful in fixing the leak, and if so how difficult it was to fix?
