just installed 4.10 gears

Just got my truck back a couple of days ago after having 4.10 gears installed. The gears were from Ford Racing. The truck runs great. I had the 3.73's before this. I have the stock 20inch wheels on my truck. It's definitely more responsive when you accelerate. I would definitely recommend this upgrade.

That's good to hear, I'm currently running 3.55's and going to 4.10's in a 5.4L . Hoping for a noticable gain.

I also have the 3.55 gears with the stock 20's, and was wondering about going to a 4.10 Could you give me an idea of the cost you put into this mod, and what has your gas mileage done in response to this? I realize it's not going to help the mileage, but a 4.10 isn't too steep so hopefully the difference isn't too substantial!? But you can surely feel a big difference in the take off though?

Did you recalibrate your speedometer? If so, how? Thanks,

I think the only way to that is to modify the parameters on your programmer if you have one.

Since we dont seem to be on at the same time, email me, (since yours is unlisted) so I can give you the information on tuners that you asked about.

I didn't have to do anything. The shop that installed it just recalibrated my SCT programmer.

I definitely feel the difference. At cruising speeds, it's rev'ing about 200-400 rpms higher. I love it. From a full stop, it shoots off the line. It complements my whipple supercharger very well. Can't comment on my gas mileage because of my supercharger (I'm only getting about 10mpg), but it didn't change after it was installed. The total cost was about $700. I was going to do it at a local ford dealership but they were quoting the install time at 8 hours ($85/hr). I got'em done at JBA racing and they got it done in 5-6 hours (but they made me buy the gears from them for $260). The gears themselves are $215 from Ford racing. You can order them through your Ford delearship for that price.

Awesome...too bad their such a pain in the a$$ to do. Probably one of the top three things you can do to a vehicle. Where I live the gear guy is a tool and takes forever. Got you over a barrel and he knows it. Keeping from doing my 06 4x4 with 4.56's anytime soon.
