well I have a '97 with 3"body and 35's and I have 3.55's they pull them alright but it would be better with 3.73's, 35's 3.73's, 38's 4.10 or 4.11's , thats my philosophy.

I run 4.10s with 31-inch street tires (285/60R18).
One of the best mods I've ever done.

With 35's I'd talk to guys with 4.56 to see what they think...there are a lot of them on this site. And from the posts I've read (you can do a search) they are happy with the results.

yea id like to know about the 4.56 i have 35s and 3.55 gears it drives just fine if u dont mind the loss in mpg. But i have a toyhauler i tow now and it ways anywhere from 5000 to 7500lb and i know if i went to 4.56 it would tow so much easier but would i be bitter with the regular street and freeway driving?

Much better for all driving IMHO.

My bro-in-law has an 05 5.4L with 35s & 3.73 gears. After driving some friend's trucks with shorter gears, he hates his truck. Total dog in comparison. Especially when towing.

488's are nice too, if your just looking power.. - I remember "Jordon not Mike" posting his MPH & RPM comparisons. With 410's you seem to get the best of both worlds- MPG & HP

410's IMO would be the best choice.

Keep in mind the tire sizes. I've got small 31-inch street tires, the original poster is looking at large 35-inchers.

I was running 411's in two 9" 3rd members w/17-44's on a 88 Ford 4x4 with a 302 back in the day. - Never had a power problem , milage was still a major issue lol.

Would the price to regear from 3.73 to 4.10 outway the performance difference?
(Stock wheels/Tires and 4x4.)

I would say yes - You can get the gears for what , around $1000 - shimmed and backlashed for another 200 maybe (no sure on the labor , if farmed out)

I think theres a big enough difference to warrant , I bet you'll get better milage, it may pay itself off in the long run.

The LONG, LONG run lol
