No.

Posi-Trac is a GM Trademarked Differential. Ford has NEVER, EVER used it.

Ford uses a Trac-Loc Limited Slip (and it's just about as useless).

You can identify stock limited slip rear ends two ways. The axle tag on the differential itself or on the info sticker on the driver's side door frame. I dont know the axle codes from the sticker off the top of my head (search button comes in handy for this one), but the tag on the rear diff will read something to the effect of 3 55 88LS (or close to that). That would indicate a 3.55 ratio on a 8.8 with limited slip.

Actually, the "L" will appear between the digits of the ratio, where the decimal would be. "3 55" is open; "3L55" is limited slip. For most F150s, a letter in the first digit of the AXLE code on the door sticker (H9) indicates limited slip; a number (19) is open.

actually I would have to say that yes ford did make a few posi tract like differentials and that posi tract and Ls are actually two different designs of the same thing they are both limited slip differentials though if you are looking for gears with the carrier usually all you will find is a 3:55 unless you find a lightning my lightning (earlier body style) has 4:10's while the later body styles have 3:73

No, Ford didn't make any Posis. Ford doesn't even make the TracLok that it uses - Eaton makes it. "PosiTraction" is a GM trademark name. TracLok is a Ford trademark name. Both mean a specific limited slip diff, but there are MANY others. Read this post & the links in it.

Hey guys!! Did any f150's in the late 90's or any year for that matter come stock with a pose track rear dif?? Like I said they did have trucks with the limited slip in them tho they were not "posi" as "posi" is a Gm version of a limted slip differential. ford used the track lok in there trucks. and Ford may not have made the actual carrier then Steve83 but they do make one now or rather Ford racing parts dose but either way yes trucks did come with limited slips which is what I tried to say in my last post tho I admit I was lacking a few words due to the fact it was 1:00 in the morning here.

FRPP doesn't make diffs, either. They buy from Eaton (& other mfrs), too. FRPP is affiliated with FoMoCo, but it's a separate company. And yes; Ford trucks have been using the Eaton TracLok since the early 80s at least.
