Read back: we're BOTH being defensive. Did your relative develop the 9"?

The only article I can specifically remember reading was in one of the 3 4x4 mags I subscribe to, but IDK which mag or what issue it was. Could've been P4WOR, Four Wheeler, or Off-Road. It had to have been a couple of years ago, at least. Possibly written by Rick Pewe, but maybe not. I think it was at the end of a longer article about axle mods in general, or maybe about a debate over whether to start with a FS truck & make it fit small trails, or start with a compact truck & add bigger components.

HOWEVER...
My P4WOR that arrived yesterday has an interesting note at the top R of p.15. An active Ford axle design engineer sent an update on the Sterling plant. Maybe we can get him to comment on this thread since he's an undeniable authority on this exact subject (even if he says I'm wrong ). I'm going to e-mail P4WOR. If he gives us his opinion, I'll accept it & repeat it anytime this topic comes up again on any BBS I use.

I assume you got that note from Brian Line about the Sterling axle plant by e-mail. Could you forward this e-mail to him?
