drive shaft

I was replacing universals and broke a ring around the front yoke. Do I need this piece? No not the snap ring . It is a round cast ring seperated by a rubber gasket on the front yoke. maybee a vibration damper!

im guessing you mean the snap ring,and yes you do....

yes that is for vibration and you do need it.
