2003 3.55ls rear end problem

2000km over the 60000km, pinion seal started to leak. It needed 1/2 liter to bring up to normal level, 1/2 in below hole. Dealer replaced seal under warranty.Aprox 2000km later it has developed a whine when pulling, louder on hills.Does anyone know of a related tsb? Could a bad pinion bearing have caused the pinion seal leak? This is my first post so thanks for any help.

Pinion bearings don't normally cause the seal to leak, unless the bearing comes apart. Usually, the seal leaks first and if the pinion nut is not preloaded/tightened correctly, that could cause the bearing to go out, causing the noise you are talking about.
