Column vs. Console Shift '04/'05
Column vs. Console Shift '04/'05
I'm on the hunt for an '04 or '05 Lariat, and am noticing that some listings have column shifters and some have console shifters. I'm wondering what's up with that, and if one is better than the other, personal preferences aside. Any thoughts on this?
I don't like the console option. Trucks have always had column shifters. Floor auto shifters are something that those ricers have some times. Unless it's an aftermarket floor shifter, it's a ricer. Two thumbs down on this one, Ford.
I like the column shift due to the reason I haul more people than cargo and like the extra seating. In a supercrew all pimped out for street use, the floor shifter looks nice, but then the honeys can't sit real close to you.
Rice? I can garuantee you there isn't anything close to rice in my '06 Lariat with console shift. Pure elegance, and comfort. And if I remember right trucks back before slush boxes became the norm, had shift sticks that came outta the floor.
But there was one good point here. If you need to haul three people in the front, then the column shift is for you. But if not the console shift is the best IMHO.
