Front Axle bearings

I have a '97 4x4 and was wondering if anyone's ever changed the front axle bearings? I have changed the rear bearings and seals but didn't know if the front is same basic setup. One concern I do have is none of the parts store web sites list the seals.

On your 4x4 you have to purchase the entire bearing assembly and replace it you can't rebuild it with new bearings and seals.

How much are we talking for a whole assembly? is this a $100, or $300 thing?

Remanufactured CV Complete Assembly about $100.00 per-side. There may be some other miscellaneous parts required for the installation.

If you have the IFS you need a wheel bearing hub assembly. Look up on Autozone.com. PN 515017 for Rear Wheel ABS and PN SP550200 for 4 wheel ABS. If you have the older syle F-150 the bearings, inner and outer, should be less than $40.00. Figure another $20 for seals.
