Post converting a 3.08 rear to a 3.55 rear

I have a 200 F150 with a 4.6 engine, a standard transmission and a 3.08 rear end. I'm considering changing the rear end from the 3.08 rear to a 3.55 rear to increase the towing capacity. Can the 3.08 rear be easily converted to a 3.55 rear? What will be the approximate cost of this conversion?

r.hollier,
Is your truck a 4x2 or 4x4?
I have the ring and pinion you need. I just changed to 4.10 on my 99 f-150. New ring and pinions cost approx.$190.00-$200.00 each for a quality set. I will sell you the gears(both front and rear) for $200.00 plus shipping. The gears are in mint condition, as they anly have 10,000 miles on the rear and only a hundred or so on the front.
I will break up the set if you have a 2 wheel drive. Then you will only need a install kit (approx.$75.00) to complete the installation
If you have any questions you can e-mail me at phlg97@waveinter.com
