Question Speed Limiter

I had the gearing changed in the rearend of my 97 F150, 4.6 (had 3.55) to 4.10 gears. We also put in a new gear on the speed sensor on the tranny to correct the speedometer. My problem, I guess there is a speed sensor also in the rearend that must sense the RPM's of the pig/carrier. When I get to 85the motor just goes flat. It does not make a difference whether in drive or OD. OD/85= about 3150 RPM. It didn't used to do this with the 3.55 I talked to a chap at the dealership when they did the recall on the cruise and this has him baffled. Does anyone have any idea if the computer can be flashed to acknowledge the gear change and allow the truck to go faster. I realize that this is past normal speed limits but just curious as it did not do it prior. Thanks in advance for any help.

i have read that there is a speed limiter in the computer, and the XCAL 2 is said to be capable of adjusting for gear changes and speed limiter.

Mine is on order, so I cannot confirm these statements.

take a look at troyerperformance.com, or better yet, give them a call.
