Question friction modifier modifier

I have a LS in the rear and it shudders around tight turns. It doesnt do it every time, but it seems that this behavior should be expected given the mechanics behind the LS. Some people have said that adding more Friction Modifier to the oil mix in the diff helps with that problem. Is this essentially reducing the effectivness of the LS??
I dont want to sacrifice any performance, but that shudder is pretty anoying.

I too had the rear end shudder around turns. Heres a test, in a parking lot turn a tight corner with some break pressure, be sure to go both directions, and then do it in reverse. If it shudders, it could be the clutch-pack in the LS rearend. I had 1500 miles on my 00' and the clutch pack had to be reaplaced, dealer said they have seen several with this problem. It hasent given me any trouble since. And the friction modifier is included in the repair kit.

My 97 3.55 LS skipped/scrubbed one tire when turning right *and* moderate acceleration. It did not skip/scrub when very light acceleration.

The new 2K 3.73 so far has not skipped/scrubbed a tire -- don't know why the big difference.

I haven't learned whose LS unit is in use in our Fords, but the Eaton variety is torque-input sensitive -- and can explain away the way my 97 worked.
