On my 97 4wd, when i am in 4high...i get a whining noise so to speak as i am coasting down on speed....i seem to really hear it alot in the 20-25 pmh range. as it is slowing down, i dont' hear anything till around 25 or so then under 20 i don't hear much either. give it gas and it doesn't do it.

any ideas?

 

My transfer case whines too, but I figured it was the straight or near straight cut on the gears causing harmonics. The fluid level is up right?

haven't checked my fluid level jsut yet. recently bought truck and hadn't got to it yet. i have bought some lucas additive to add to both axles and the transfer case. hopefully this will help.....
