4X4 Vaccum Motor

I need some help. My 2003 F150 4X4 5.4L had a gear change done and when I got home I noticed my three vaccum lines were disconnected from the diaphram vaccum motor on the front differential. Apparently they forgot to re-attach them after working on it. Instead of driving the vehicle around 65 miles back to the shop, I was wondering if someone could tell me what color wire goes where. There is a green and reddish pink connector. Which one is connected closer the the front differential cover and which one is connected further away from the front differential cover. Thanks

Eric

On my '97 4x4, I have only 2 vacuum lines to the front differential. They are light blue(engaging) and pink(disengaging). On my truck, the pink is closest to the front diff and the light blue away.

I do know that the light blue goes to the solenoid closest to passenger fender though.

Hope this helps.

So then can someone tell me on the actuator arm, when it is extended does that mean the 4x4 is engage or when the actuator arm retracted is the 4x4 engaged? Thanks

The description of the actuator arm is relative to me, I mean, I don't know the exact name of the part you are talking about so I will describe what I know.

From the vacuum controlled diaphram (the black rubber thingy that the vacuum lines hook up to) pushes a lever (vertical) which in turn moves the actuator arm(I think that this is what you are talking about and is horizontal) in or out of the differential.

When the actuator arm is pushed in the diff (extended), I assume that 4x4 is engaged and vice versa.

Let me know if this helps as I would not want to point others in wrong direction. :o

I believe that beowulf is correct in his explanation. I just diagnosed a leak in one of my vacuum hoses off of the solenoid and the description above seems to be correct......
