Got my 4.56's!!

Like the title says, I got my truck back today from having my 4.56's put in. Holy Crap!!

My truck had 3.55's in it. With the stock tires it was pretty decent. Then I put 305/70/17's on it. What a turd it became. Could barely get out of it's own way. It sucked in town. Highway wasn't real bad, but definately not good. It would kick in and out of O/D on most hills. With the stock tires it never did.

She plain hauls *** around town now. She runs through 1st and 2nd gear before you can say anbesol, even under light throttle.

When round corners in 2nd it feels like it did in 1st before. When accelerating from about 10 on it'll stay in 3rd unless you really hammer on it. Even in 3rd she scoots right up to 30-40 without hesitation.

Now, highway. Going with the traffic, I'm assumming they were going about 60, my speedo would read about 73-75 and run about 1900-2000 rpm.

I passed somebody for the hell of it, and it never even downshifted out of O/D. The torque converter unlocks and she takes off. I know it's not shifting into 3rd because when it unlocks and takes off if I push the O/D off button you get a good solid downshift and the tach jumps majorly.

I purposely took the hilly way home and even when accelerating up some slight hills it wouldn't down shift. I LOVE IT!!!!

In my opinion it basically went from a 3speed with O/D, to a regular 4 speed. Because that's what it acts like. It just shift through all 4 gears like it's normal.

Once I get a couple hundred miles on the clicker I'm gonna hook up my buddies bass boat, it runs around 2900 with trailer and see how it does. The way it feels, I dont' think it's gonna kick out of overdrive that much. I think it's gonna take a fairly decent hilll to get it to downshift.

If anybody is considering swapping new gears. DO IT!!!! NOW!!!
You will most definately be happy.

my truck has 315/75/16s with stock 373 gears, does pretty good. Kicks out of overdrive alittle. I bet if i put gears in it would make it alot better. But I think im gonna be going up in tire size if i can get my 6" fabtech lift than 38's. Than ill change to some different gears
