I have a 94 f150 4x4 and want 4:10 gears. I read one reply to another post saying it wont work? I have only 50,000 miles on the truck and dont want to waste money having to find a dana 50 or 60 with 2, 3 or 4 times the miles. Let alone rebuildind it and trying to weld leaf mounts onto my frame to make it fit. I have the twin i beam up front and a 8.8 in rear. i have 3:55 gears and i am about to buy larger tires. Can i put any lower of a gear in my axles with out swapping them for new ones?

 

I am going through the same thing right now with the gears and tires and limited power. As far as rebuilding that 8.8 and finding the gears that fit. I have found all kinds of gear makers for my 8.8 such as Yukon, Motive, Richmond, ford racing.

Yes you can put 4.10's in it. You can go with 4.56's if you want to.
