tight steering/hard driving
I know 99 2X4 is still under 9K, but it's like driving a boat with constant corrections. It won't "hold the line," so to speak. Should I give it a few more K's to limber up? Anyone else noticed this or am I imagining things?
Doesn't sound normal to me. Have your dealer check the alignment - I've heard on this board that if and you bring it in before 12k miles, the dealer is supposed to do an alignment for free. Could be something else, too, but I'd try the dealer first since you are still under warranty. I don't think waiting will help.
Just returned from dealer and re-align. Toe-in was off some but mech didn't put in kit mentioned since cast/camber were within normal limits. May have helped just a very little, but mech says these trucks are so steering sensitive compared to older models, it's like the response of a sports car and it drove him nuts recently on a trip he took.
I guess I'm just gonna have to get adjusted to a new generation of trucks that behave better than cars used to years ago!

Increasing caster to the maximum amount within the spec can help alleviate the 'darting' and overly quick response. Most shops will just get it anywhere within the allowable range as quickly as possible and call it good enough. If your dealer or alignment shop will work with you and allow you to experiment with alignment, you might get it more to your liking. I've known some people who have had this same problem on older trucks and motor homes, too.
DBD.....Worth a try and since the trouble shooter is suppossed to be at dealer soon to check A/C and remaining vibe, I'll see if they'll do the re-align over again. Doubt it tho.
