gear ratio question a.s.a.p.

Hi all I need this question a.s.a.p. due to that I have tentivly ordered a truck. But I havn't desided on a colour. But sleeping on it last night brought me to another question.
This dealership has a cool off road option. They call it the Baja pakage. It comes with 35" BFG's muds 4" lift duel exhaust and speed grill.

My question to you all is. Should I go with the stock 3:55 gears or order the 3:73 gears the truck is a 2006 supercab f150 xlt with the 5.4 in it 6.5 box

thanks in advance

Gerry

35" is a tall tire you may want the lower gear. Will the dealer correct for speedometer error with the larger tires? Installing larger tires will result in the speedo reading slower than actual speed.

With 35's I would be wanting 4.10's. Something to think about!

Yes they will set up the speedo so it is correct. 4:10 gears are not an option from this dealer. Thanks for the info. Looks like I will be going to the 3:73's from your responce and other places I have asked the question. Also to let you know this truck will be leased so I can't swap 4:10 in later unless I plan on buying it in 3 years.

you might want to think about upgrading the braking system with those 35's..... Just a thought/opinion.

gear ratio

thanks for the info. But I will have to keep it stock. This truck will be leased for at least 3 years. I'm going with the 3:73 gears. When I get it I will put a pic on this site.

yep...given those options, get the 3.73's. Personally, when I get my 35's, I'll be also going with 4.56's.
