looking for an upgrade in gearing. i have a '97 f150 w/ 4.2 v6, 4r70w auto and 3.55 in the rear. stock tire size was 235/75/16.

went to 265s a few yrs ago and mileage has been crap since. due to prices of gas, look to save in the long run, looking for the happy medium, better gas mileage and still some perfomance.

with the stock tire size performance was great, now she is a dog at the start and have high rpms on the highway speed and shift alot on hills.

should i go with the 3.73 or 4.10?

I've got 3.73's on my 5.0 F-150 and am wishing I had gone with the 4.10's when I had the old ones changed out. 4.10 seems to be a good all 'round gear.
