New Ring and pinion
New Ring and pinion
I found someone to install new gears for my truck.. He's supposed to be real good.. He said labor would be $325+tax... I think thats pretty resonable...
I also had a talk with a tech from Randy's ring and pinion...
I told him I was looking into getting a 4.56 gear set because nobody makes a 4.30 for a 9.75" rear end. He recommended 4.11 gears.
He strongly recommended me not to get a 4.56 gear because of my tire size.. Right now, im running a 29.5"ish tire and soon I will be puttin on my new Lariet wheels and tires which are 30ish"..
What do you guys think? Is 4.56 too steep for daily driving on my 30" tires..
Bout 50/50 Highway/City driving.

with the 4.10 you will be at 200 or so rpm higher than what you are at now, 4.56 would be way overkill and you would get like 10 mpg highway, i would recomend 4.10, also $350 is a great price for labor on a ring and pinion install, good luck
