any idea about pinion bearings

I have been trying to replace my pinion bearing. I believe its the inner one, the one behing the drive shaft, on the side of the axel thats closest to the front of the truck. I am having the hardest time getting the race to come out.

Try changing the title, maybe including the words pinion or setup problem. That may attract the gear gurus.

I have replace bearings in a lot of ford rear ends and I have found that if you go to the rear of the truck and use a long (12") 3/8 inch extension, you can pound it out with that. Remember, the race has to go toward the front of the truck to get it out. (toward the driveshaft) Hope that helps!! let us know how it goes!!
