Post Warn manual locking hubs

My 2000 F150 5.4L Lariat 4x4 (SOF) arrives any day now. Unlike my 99 Ranger, I understand that the F150 SOF mechanism disconnects the axles at the front differential and not at the hubs, therefore the front axles are always turning reducing gas mileage and increasing wear. I was thinking about installing Warn manual locking hubs to improve gas mileage but was informed by a local distributer that there is no way to do this due to the design of the front axles, hubs etc. Is this the case?
Thanks for any replies.

I believe the new design has the half-shafts splined through the front hubs like a front wheel drive car does. I don't know of any way to free wheel that, nor to make it re-lockable.
