rear end

When you take the yoke off of the rear end what is the threaded thing that you put the nut on to. I attempted to move my truck in 4 wheel drive and that stud wont line up for me to put the yoke back on. What do i need to do to fix it.

thanks

The piece you are talking about is the pinion. First of all, you should never move the truck with that yoke not in place. Since the pinion is not secured in place, you have a good chance of breaking the ring or the pinion gear. To line it up, you will need to either move the truck forward or backward depending on which way the pinion is out of place. I would jack up the rear end so both wheels are off the ground and move the wheels that way. Hope you didn't screw anything up!!! Let us know how it goes.
